Our veterinarians have many years of experience with dental procedures and offer a broad scope of dental services, including dental cleanings and extractions. For more specialized procedures like root canals, we work with local board-certified dental specialists to make sure our patient receives the highest quality of surgical care.

We believe pet owners should be informed about their pet’s dental procedure and any post-operative care needed for a full and speedy recovery. Before each dental, we provide the client with pre-operative and post-operative information and make sure to address any questions they may have. We also require blood testing before surgery to determine if a pet can safely undergo anesthesia, and so that we can tailor the anesthesia protocol to that pet. Each surgery patient will have an IV catheter placed so that fluids can be given intravenously throughout the surgical procedure. We closely monitor blood pressure, respiratory rate, heart rate and EKG, carbon dioxide levels in the blood, oxygen saturation of the blood, and body temperature throughout dental procedures. We also observe each pet for at least an hour after the procedure is completed to make sure that recovery is going smoothly.

It is important to us that our clients understand their pets’ dental options and are comfortable with any temporary or permanent changes to their care. We always check in with our clients following a pet’s dental so that we can be sure the pet is recovering and adjust our plan of care accordingly.

Every dental procedure is performed at a local Twin Cities veterinary clinic. We choose to perform surgeries at a clinic rather than in our vans so that we can monitor each of our patients for an adequate amount of time after surgery. We wholeheartedly believe that this is the safest option for our patients as they recover from anesthesia. If needed, our veterinarians can provide pet transportation to and from the clinic. Pets are always able to go home the same day as the procedure.
