Let’s close out this conversation with one last thought. Many rescue organizations struggle to find enough foster families and new homes for the constant influx of cats and dogs that are brought in through their doors. In the United States alone, between six and eight MILLION pets are brought into shelters every year. That equates to 16,000-22,000 homeless pets per DAY that shelters have to find homes for. Almost three million healthy cats and dogs are tragically euthanized each year in the United States, and many of these pets were born into accidental litters. Spaying/neutering your pet will help to curb overpopulation and prevent pet homelessness.
