Meet Rosa

Good morning to all of our awesome readers and friends! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rosa, and I’m the House Paws pet of the week! If you’ve been to our office, you’ve probably met me… I’m usually leading the pack of Chihuahuas that run up and bark at you as you enter!

Don’t worry though, my bark is way bigger than my bite. I had all of my teeth removed before my mom adopted me. Not to worry, I can still eat hard food and any delicious table scraps that drop to the floor. They just have to be small pieces. A bonus to not having teeth is that I never have bad breath! My mom loves that about me.

I put on a show and act tough when I meet new people, but on the inside I’m a big softy. I had a rough start to life and got kicked around a bit, so you have to earn my trust before I’ll be your friend. But once we’re friends, I’m the best cuddler you’ve ever met! I also love tummy rubs, back massages, and baths. My Grandpa gives the best baths in the world. He fills the whole tub up with warm soapy water, and then massages me for a long time. I make happy dog noises the whole time so that he knows I love him. Bath time is the best at my house!

My greatest pleasure in life is eating. I have a really good “puppy dog face” when I want a snack. My Grandma (you know her as Dr. Ann) is especially vulnerable to it. Every morning when she’s in the kitchen, I just stand next to her and wag my tail and smile at her. She caves every time, and I end up with a small piece of cheese or some egg. My mom says I’m getting chubby and calls me her little sausage McMuffin. But I’m not self conscious about my weight, because I’d rather enjoy life than go on a diet. I love food from the bottom of my heart. When I’m not sleeping, sunbathing, or going potty, I’m looking for food. One of my talents is my sense of smell. My sniffer has super powers, I swear. If there’s food on the ground, I’ll find it and I’ll eat it. The secret is the grunting noise I make. To all the dogs out there: if you walk around the house and grunt like a little piggy, you’ll be able to smell better and find way more food on the ground. It works for me anyway.
